Lazy Sunday

This is something that never happens: both of my kittehs in the same room, on the same bed, within inches of each other! They usually stay in separate rooms.
Still lazy... fuzzy bucket is on the left, baby cakes on the right.
I intended to do some art this weekend, but instead lazed around with the cats and watched movies (btw I could not cover up with my quilt, as it was covered by kittehs!)

This big box turned over my giggle box!

thought that I would share it with you.

Since I have been surfing instead of cleaning, I found this cute video!

Be VERY specific in your wants and needs!

I got a letter in the mail today and it was from the bank that had the loan from my totaled car. Insurance paid it off, but I have been hoping for a refund. When I saw the envelope today, I said "Please let it be a check!" It was, but it was for $3.67! So I got my wish!

Time for more cat pics. I went into my bedroom today and f
ound Fuzzy Bucket asleep on the bed!

Doesn't she look all cozy and warm? She would not even open her eyes!

Found this book at the library, it is Celebrate your Creative Self by Mary Todd Beam. Great book! I go to different libraries and haunt the 745.xx section for any art books!

I could have sworn that yesterday was Friday the 13th!

After a LONG week at work, went to dinner and to play cards at a friend's house. While we were heading home, going through an intersection, this HUGE white pickup runs the red light right in front of us! Luckily the car to my right braked quickly and I was able to swerve and miss the idiot by no more than a few inches. He did not even slow down!

Then I get home and inside my house it is 39 degrees! It was only 15 degrees outside! Cold air is coming out of my vents. I immediately turn off my NEW FURNACE, and look around. PNM (Natural gas supplier in NM) had turned the gas off to make repairs in the area. By now it is 10:30 and the service man does not arrive until 12:30. In the meantime I am building a fire in the fireplace (my only source of heat!) Fuzzy will not even come out of whatever hidey hole she is in, and it is very cold. Luckily I have an electric blanket on my bed, so the cats and I repair to the warm bed. By the next morning it is only 60 degrees (although that is a great improvement over the 39 degrees from the night before). I called my HVAC guy and he can't make it until noon. When he gets there he tells me that the whole winter (I had a new furnace installed in April, 2007) the air conditioner has been running when the heater is running!

Does this look like a cold cat?

Anyway, the furnace has been repaired, and the cats and I are roasty toasty warm! Hopefully my huge electric bill will go down too!

Wishing you you warmth and happiness!

More Furry Aliens

The furry aliens that I leave with are soooo cute. They are not usually in this close proximity, as they have different areas of the house that they rule over, but since this was the first evening it was cool enough to have the windows open, they were both sitting in the window! Baby Cakes is the Maine Coon (who is not as chunky as she appears) and Fuzzy Bucket is the black shorthair. They keep life interesting.

Memory Boxes

These are how my memory boxes start out. I make a blank shrine, then cover with photos that you send to me. These will be painted black.

See my previous blog in June to see some finished memory boxes. I have made one for David (about Larry) and some for my sister.

Note the cat that thinks she owns the place in the background! She has to be in the middle of everything!

Furry Aliens that live with me

The younger of my furry aliens (a.ka. Fuzz Bucket) loves
the printer. Whenever I am printing she comes dashing in
to see the printer working. At least she is too big to try to
climb in the printer output tray (she did try that when she
was smaller)!

Monday Holidays in the summer are great!
Ashley, Amber, and their grandparents
(my sister and BIL) took off for
meteor crater this morning. We had a
leisurely breakfast, I packed them off,
and then I had a fantastic morning.
I always forget how much I
enjoy the mornings in the
spring/summer/fall.
I am usually not in hurry to get anywhere
(work, appointments, etc) and can just laze
around and enjoy a second cup of tea.
The birds are chirping, hot air balloons are
hovering on the horizon and the cats
(having come out of hiding from Ash and Amber all weekend)
are avidly watching the chirping, swooping birds.
Life is good, and now I am going to spend the day
working on my archetypes for my class with
