Prayer Flag Project

I found this site on the internet, and plan to have an Artful Sunday to work on this, when my tribe reconvenes later in the fall!

Busy, busy week at work, and I had to work today too, so I am going to veg out tomorrow and try to do some art. I may make some prayer flags!

Lazy Sunday

This is something that never happens: both of my kittehs in the same room, on the same bed, within inches of each other! They usually stay in separate rooms.
Still lazy... fuzzy bucket is on the left, baby cakes on the right.
I intended to do some art this weekend, but instead lazed around with the cats and watched movies (btw I could not cover up with my quilt, as it was covered by kittehs!)

Artful Sunday

I had my little art group, with some additions, over for an Artful Sunday. Of course we ate: appetizers, antipasto, salmon salad, crackers and fruit salad. Great group and good food! The mission for the day was to cut our own stamps, and some of us did that and some did not. But a good time was had by all!

I am taking a relief printing course with a local printer, Carol Sanchez. She is great, and last night we just got an orientation and started cutting on lino and wood. I did not care so much for the wood, but loved the lino. Next week we will make our first prints! Can't wait, and brought home homework!

I am a docent at a relatively new gallery, 516 Arts in downtown Albuquerque. Tomorrow night we are showing a collage film for a local film exhibition. Should be interesting. If you are in the Albuquerque area, they have a fantastic show on collage and drawings that will be up until the end of May.

Another Artful Sunday

My hand carved stamp: original pencil sketch, first impression in upper right (not exciting at all...) next iteration in the bottom middle, two prints in the middle and the actual stamp in the bottom left. Not my best work, but I enjoyed it.
Six of us got together at my house for an Artful Sunday and we had a great time, great food and great art!

Well, I am back. My foot is still not healed, and I am in a walking boot, which is the one that I had first, but without the pressure bandage. Still hurts, but it is better, I guess.

I had an ARTFUL Sunday at my house today. 5 friends (two artists and three non artists) all joined me for a pot luck lunch and ART!. We worked on NOTAN ( or as Jane Dunnewold calls them Expanded Squares). We had a great time and everyone (even the non-artists) came up with some fantastic designs!

Stress Fracture

I have spent the day lazing around, as I have a stress fracture on my left 3rd metatarsal (sp?). Last weekend I read all the books, watched movies and so today I was bored.
I did discover a new art outlet:
Lots of intersting interviews and it has kept me pretty entertained for most of the day. Just audio, but still pretty interesting.
I had an Artful Sunday planned for tomorrow, pot luck lunch and then several hours of art making with 7 or 8 friends, but since I am dragging buns, I had to postpone. That is probably the worst thing of this whole situation.
I go back to the ortho on Tuesday and will get the latest Xrays and etc. Hope it is better by then!
