Day 4 Karnak

Colussus of Memnon, another Ramses II statue

Somehow, this reminds me of Transformers

Temple of Karnak, Luxor (Thebes)
From this vantage, if you look back to the West you will see Hatshepsut's Temple

Jules of the Nile

After Hatshepsut was thrown out of office, her successor Thutmos
had her images and cartouches chipped away. However, her image still remains very visible, if you know what you are looking for

The Temple of Karnak covers 60 acres, and there are 134 columns in the Hippostyle Hall

These two obelisks represent the Lotus and Papyrus, and upper and lower Egypt

The entrance is flanked with a lot of these Ram Sphinx, representing Ramses II.
The small figure is his wife Nefetari

Ramses II and Nefetari

The view of the whole complex from the East. It is an amazing temple.
